The Employment Standards Act (ESA) uses to employees.

A worker includes an individual who:

– performs work for an employer for salaries

– products services to a company for salaries

– gets training from a company, if the skill in which the person is being trained is an ability utilized by the company’s workers

– is a homeworker

– was an employee

Effective March 21, 2024, an employee consists of an individual who performs work throughout a trial duration for an employer, if the skills being examined during the trial duration are skills used by the company’s workers or might be used by employees if there are no other staff members. How to tell who is an independent specialist
