The month of December in Phuket has been somewhat of a yachting festival attracting some of the worlds most extravagant superyachts. Rendezvous’s, Yacht Shows, Crew Parties and Regatta’s have filled the calendar for in the popular yachting destination.

Kata Beach again hosted the prestigious Kings Cup sailing regatta from the 3rd – 10th December. Immediately following this Kata Rocks luxury resort launched a Superyacht Rendezvous sponsored and supported by some of the industries largest brands including Feadship, Bennetti, Burgess, Edmiston and Ferretti Yachts.


On the 11th December, AYC Superyacht Recruitment partnered with local marine business to host an unforgettable evening for around 230 local Yacht Crew and Marine Industry at the spectacular ‘Deck’ at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina. Guests were refreshed with the locally brewed ‘Phuket Beer’ and fed a delicious Lamb spit roast courtesy of Choice Foods, the regions provisions provider for superyachts. Traditional Thai dancing, celebrity DJ Jason Wilder and a LED Dance show kept the crowd entertained. It was the first major event targeted for Yacht Crew in the Phuket region and set to become an annual occurrence.



The Thailand Yacht Show opened on the 15th December with an incredible turnout of super yachts up to 90 metres, the very private and graceful Feadship M.Y. Paraffin was on display next to some of the regions local Charter Yachts and new vessels on the market for sale.


Of particular mention was the meticulous Zeelander 44 presented by Northrop & Johnson, this comfortable day cruiser stole the show for its unique character and inviting appeal for cruising the local Andaman Sea. Learn more about the Zeelander 44 here >>


The roller coaster of events attracted some very high profile yachts to the region including the 110m Megayacht Radiant, the 91m Oceanco Equanimity, 90m Lauren L  and some classic Feadships.



Thailand is a popular destination for visiting superyachts due to the world class marinas and access to refit, repair and maintenance services. Being a tropical holiday island it also offers crew an opportunity ti unwind and let their hair down in the party central of Patong.
